Visco-Elastic (Memory Foam)?

Other popular names for this space-age, visco-elastic material are "slow-rebound" and "memory foam". A true visco-elastic memory foam pillow should have certain properties. Knowing about them can help guide you when making a decision when shopping for a new pillow.

Some of the visco-elastic materials available today are not "heat-sensitive", which is a property that allows the Stasis Sleep™ Pillow to change levels of viscosity or softness/support vis-a-vis exchange of body heat from the body to the memory foam pillow. This heat sensitive property allows the support pillow to change levels of softness for differing areas of contact. memory foam The pillow can then contour to the body in a variable way, while at the same time supporting the body. This heat-sensitive attribute of visco-elastic in the Stasis Sleep™ Pillow is very important for superior and high quality comfort and support. We would not accept anything less. Neither should you! Remeber to ask before you purchase any visco-elastic material!

The 'elastic' aspect simply means the pillow 'rebounds' to its original shape after it adapts to the change in temperature and viscosity, like what a rubber band does. Most of the material on the market today can achieve this rebound effect, but not all have the heat-sensitive property. We believe there is added comfort and value gained from such qualities.

A high quality visco-elastic material can be quite expensive to produce, and this is part of the reason so many companies charge an arm and a leg for their visco-elastic products. Another part is, in our opinion, greedy markups. We provide a high quality product from a leading U.S. visco-elastic manufacturer and keep our cost low for you, the consumer. We don't believe people should be taken to the bank for a better night's sleep when purchasing a pillow.

Lastly, you might notice the 'weight' of our visco-elastic is 5 lbs. per cubic foot. This is a heavier visco-elastic, which will provide you with additional, longer-lasting support. Many companies today are selling a lower 'weight', which has a great tendency to wear quickly and lack support. Our advice is to keep away from anyone offering such a lower-grade visco-elastic product. Independent research should lead you to exactly the same conclusion.

We are offering you a superior design with one of the highest quality visco-elastic materials on the market today, and at wholesale prices!

We hope this information helps.

Process-Oriented Perspective

Instead of seeing the human body from a static, non-linear, reductionistic perspective, the developer used a more dynamic, process-oriented, integral perspective of human anatomy. Now, what does that mean for crying out loud?

sleep science

Let's take the "static" vs. "dynamic" part first. Probably the easiest way to understand static vs. dynamic perspectives is to use the analogy of a movie. When watching a movie, one probably would find it difficult to understand an entire movie or story by seeing just one isolated frame taken out of the greater context of the entire movie. The dynamic perspective is watching the entire movie through time, while the static perspective is not, but only taking a snap shot of one thing out of the greater context, which is where more correct or accurate 'meaning' can be derived. Can you see how one picture taken out of context makes it more difficult to understand what's really happening? That is what the static perspective is like.

It becomes a lot easier to understand the rest of the statement now. Time is linear, meaning one thing happens after another in a sequence or line of 'events', and this is how things in the world appear dynamic or appear to change, understanding becomes known through a linear, "process-oriented" perspective. This is how a truly causal relationship is derived. If we take something out of time, it becomes non-linear and isolated, again making it hard to understand what is "happening", which by its very definition "happening" implies through time. Things don't happen at all in a static perspective alone, but seem frozen and actually unidentifiable! If nothing appeared to move, we wouldn't even be able to differentiate anything at all!! Time is a phenomena we perceive because of the movement of things through space.

A reductionistic perspective in this context is simply saying that something cannot be understood by narrowing it down to a 'part(s)', or what we say a static perspective does, vs. looking at an entire "process" and the many things that take place. It is important to integrate, hence "integral", the static understanding into a greater dynamic, linear, process-oriented perspective. See, not that hard to understand all that mumbo jumbo after all. But, besides understanding the semantics, you now can see how hard it would be for someone to come to a greater understanding of what takes place throughout a night as one rests using the static, non-linear, reductionistic perspective instead of the more dynamic, process-oriented, integral perspective!

This perspective is what we believe led to the amazing development of the Stasis Sleep™ Pillow.
